vMedia Migration Assistance

For firms already running vMedia on SQL Server.

Whether it’s due to audit requirements, hardware failure, or contract renewal with hardware providers, server upgrades and data migration to new servers are critical to running a business. Due to the nature of the media files stored within vMedia, the contents archived can use large amounts of space. The growing needs of a business can also dictate the need to move data to a better storage location.

Regardless of why you are looking to migrate your data, Vertican can work with you or your IT provider to migrate your system, create a test environment, and ensure the licensing components are set up properly in your new environment. We will also review all database configuration options to prevent any process pulling data from a prior location.

This package assumes that all data (vMedia program files and image files) is transferred over to the new location prior to the scheduled meeting. We recommend the use of a Robocopy script to move data.

Time allotted in this package also assumes SQL Server’s contents do not need to be moved to a SQL database on a new server. If you're moving a SQL database to a new SQL Server, this may incur additional charges if Vertican's SQL database administrator (DBA) is included in the migration process.
