Onboarding with YGC

YGC Test File Instructions

YGC is a fixed length standard, meaning that there is a fixed (maximum) length of x characters for each item in the record.

  • The position of the data within the item’s character length is very important.
  • For example, for an item that is a fixed length of 6 characters, you can see the difference between placing AA at the beginning versus at the end.

A A  _  _  _  _

_  _  _  _  A  A

vExchange testing requires that you insert your vExchange ID in place of another ID that acts as a placeholder.

  • Your vExchange ID is 3-6 alphanumeric characters.
    • For example, AA12 (4 characters).
  • The placeholder ID for testing is NJ900 (5 characters) but there is a maximum of 6 characters for that item.
  • If your vExchange ID is 4 characters, replace NJ900 with your 4 characters and then add two spaces at the end to match the 6-character length, like this:

A  A  1  2  _  _

  • If your vExchange ID is 3 characters, then add three spaces after like this:

A  A  1  _  _  _

  • Essentially, you add spaces after your vExchange ID so that it’s 6 characters long.
  • Adding spaces will ensure that your vExchange ID is in the correct position in the record.

Now return to the main vExchange Onboarding Guide, download your Receiver or Sender test file, and reference the instructions on this page if helpful.
