(1) 32 Bit Application – Supports 32 or 64 bit Systems.

(2) 64 Bit Application – Supports 64 Bit Systems (Most 64 bit applications also provide a 32 bit alternative)

(3) Primary Workstations: Power Users/Batch processes Work Station – Processor: Intel Core i7 (or better), Ram: 8 GB+, OS: Windows 7 (32Bit), Windows 8.1, or Widows 10

(4) Other Workstations: Normal Users/ Routine Tasks (Collectors) – Processor: Intel Core i3 (or better), Ram: 4 GB, OS: Windows 7 (32Bit),  Windows 8.1, or Windows 10

(5) File Server (Domain Controller) – Server that controls the network and security. Consult with your system vendor for recommended Domain Controller

(6) File Server (Application Server) – Server that runs the application. It requires the highest performing components.
Processor: Intel® Xeon® E5-2660 v3 2.6GHz, 25M Cache, 9.60GT/s QPI, Turbo, HT, 10C/20T (105W) Max Mem 2133MHz
2nd Processor is nice however not required.
Hard Disk: Three or more drives for striping with parity [Raid Level 5/5.1 or 6]. Type 15K RPM Self-Encrypting SA SCSI 6Gbps
** NOTE: Self-Encrypting Drives provide encryption at rest.
Size: Using three 600GB or larger drives, delivers 1.2TB of storage; figure 1 megabyte (MB) per 50 claims plus 1,000 megabytes for system use.
SCSI: High performance controller with hardware based raid; cache for improved performance.
Ram: 32 GB+

(7) File Server (SQL Server) – Applications that Require a SQL server will use this server. For compliance, it should use Self Encrypting Hard Drives.

(8) NAS Device (Backups) – A separate storage device to hold backups of all information on the network. Usually very large, slower drives are used. For compliance, it should use Self Encrypting Hard Drives.
Disk Backup Appliance (Sample, Dell DR4100 Disk Backup Appliance).
Internal Storage Redundant OS storage on dedicated disks (inside chassis). 12 3.5” drives, Near Line SAS–hardware RAID 6 configuration (11 drives + 1 hot spare). 9 TB post-RAID (135 TB logical) 4.
** NOTE: Self-Encrypting Drives provide encryption at rest

(9) Cloud Based/Off-Site Solutions (Backups) – There are many internet based backups. Crashplanpro.com offers a good offsite backup solution. Other alternatives include hosting your own backup server at a secure alternate location.

(10) Gigabit Ethernet Network – This is the actual infrastructures that carries the information from the workstations / clients to the servers.
